Saturn and Its Gemstone, Blue Sapphire

1. Saturn is neutral, slow-moving, inert, and malefic. The planet of darkness and confinement, it governs the skeleton, skin, nervous system, and old age.

2. It makes its natives reserved, reflective, rebellious, and patient. Saturn rides a culture, the bird that lives on dead bodies. In one hand be bolds a sword of lawlessness and terrorism, and in another hand a trident of shiva (the trident of destruction).

3. SATURN (Sanskrit, Shani) is darkness, the enemy of light.

4. Saturn is cold and dry, tamasik (lethargic), and is an elderly planet.

5. Saturnine natives are defensive, nervous, and secretive.

6. Saturn rules over the zodiacal signs Capricorn and Aquarius. It is exalted in Libra and fallen in Aries.

7. Those born on the eighth, seventeenth, or twenty-sixth of any month are influenced by saturn. Blue sapphire is the gemstone of Saturn.

THE BLUE SAPPHIRE

1. Known as indra neel and and neel mani in Sanskrit and neelam in Hindi, the blue sapphire is a gem of the corundum family.

  3. Uniformity in color

  4. High specific gravity

  5. Brilliance, exhibiting a star-like effect from inside when viewed in reflected light, emitting rays of light from inside

FLAW OF A BLUE SAPPHIRE

1. Milky-brings poverty

2. Dull (without luster or devoid of brilliance)-harm friends, brothers, and near relations

3. Film like a cobweb-brings disease

4. Fissure or cracks in its structure-causes accidents, injuries caused by weapons, and financial crisis

5. Depression, cavity-causes boil and ulcers and increases poisonous material in the body

HOW TO DIENTIFY REAL BLUE SAPPHIRE ?

1. A real blue sapphire emits blue light and, if placed in a glass of cow’s milk, the milk appears to have a bluish tinge.

2. A real blue sapphire emits blue light in sunlight, and if placed on a white piece of cloth, it makes the cloth appear blue on the spot where the reflected light falls.

3. A real blue sapphire emits blue sparks when placed in a glass of water.

4. A real blue sapphire picks up bits of straw because of its electrical property; that is why it is called “Tringrayhi” in Sanskrit (trin means a small piece of straw and grahi means that which accepts or holds

HOW TO WEAR A BLUE SAPPHIRE - नीलम RING ?

1. A blue sapphire should be bought on a Saturday when Saturn is posited in Capricorn, Aquarius, or Libra, or when on a Saturday there is Shravan, Dhanishtha, Kshat Bhikha, Purva Bhadrapad, Uttrakshad, Chitra, Svati, or Vishakha.

2. A blue sapphire weighing 5 or 7 rattikas (2.59 or 4.13 metric carats) or one weighing 5 carats is supposed to be auspicious. The gemstone should be flawless.

3. The gemstone should be bought in the evening hours and given to the jeweler on the same day, who should prepare a ring from a mixture of gold, iron, and silver.

4. Saturn is a friend of Mercury and Venus. To add additional power to the ring, emerald and diamond could also be embedded in it.

5. The back should be open to allow the gemstone to touch the skin of the finger.

6. Then one should write a Shani (Saturn) Yantra on a black cloth with red sandalwood paste, rice-paste, or Roli.

4. The mantra should be recited 108 times to wear a blue sapphire ring,
