THE GEMSTONE OF Venus is the diamond, which is known as vajra in Sanskrit and heera in Hindi.
Most attractive to the eyes, the diamond is famous for its play of color. It emits a very delicate bluish, reddish, or a mixture of blue and red radiance of glittering luster when exposed to light.

FLAWS IN A DIAMOND
1. Dullness-a gem that is earthy and devoid of luster: such a diamond brings numbness in the organs of the body and destroys wealth.
2. Filth in the edges, corners, or middle of the diamond: such a diamond is injurious to health, wealth, and comfort.
3. “Feathers of a crow”: A diamond having a blemish like the black feather of a crow is very inauspicious and is supposed to bring death to the one who wears it.
4. Red spots: a diamond having a red spot in its body is supposed to be the most inauspicious and should be discarded altogether as it destroys the wealth and prosperity of the one who wears it.
5. Black spots: A diamond having black spot is also inauspicious; it brings financial crisis and destroys mental peace.
HOW TO IDENTIFY REAL DIAMOND ?
1. A real diamond when placed in warm milk cools the milk.
2. A real diamond when placed when placed in liquid butter or ghee (clarified butter) at room temperature solidifies the butter or ghee.
3. A real diamond sprays rainbow-colored light when placed in sunlight.
4. A real diamond when placed in the mouth of one who stammers stops the stammering.
5. A real diamond makes the one who wears it attract members of the opposite sex.
HOW TO WEAR A DIAMOND -हीरा RING ?
1. A DIAMOND SHOULD BE BOUGHT ON A Friday when Bharni, Purva Phal-gunni, or Purvakshad nakshatra is presen-or when Venus is in Taurus, Libra, or Pisces. It should be bought in the morning between sunrise and 11:00 A.M.
2. As the diamond is a costly gemstone it should be at least 1 rattika (.59 metric carat) in weight.
3. The best time to wear a diamond is morning, during Pushya Nakshatra.
4. Before wearing the ring for the first time it should be immersed in raw (cow’s) milk. After time it should be cleaned with Ganga-water, spring water, rainwater, or water kept in a copper pot overnight. After it has been washed the ring should be placed on a white cloth on which the yantra of Venus is drawn with rice-paste to which a pinch of saffron is added.
4. The mantra should be recited 108 times to wear a diamond ring,
